Global Warming in need of Progressive Reform

Global Warming in Need of Progressive Reform
A major issue in the United States today is that of Global Warming. There is a protective layer around the Earth called the o-zone layer. This layer protects us from the sun's harmful rays and their consequences. Because of chemicals humans have released in the environment, the o-zone layer is depleting. This means that there is a hole growing in it. The hole allows the suns rays to shine through and causes negative side effects on the Earth and it's people. Many people do not know about this growing problem, and some people are aware but choose to ignore it. If we keep ignoring this problem, the consequences will get significantly worse. This is a problem that is in need of progressive reform. In order to fix this problem, there are many simple changes we can make. Switching incandescent light bulbs to fluorescent, cleaning or replacing the filter's on your furnaces or air conditioners, defrosting your refrigerators and freezers regularly, and cutting down use of aerosol cans are just a few of the many ways we can help stop global warming in the United States, as well as throughout the world.

Spanish Sink Ship: Hundreds of U.S. Sailors Dead

Today, off the coast of Havana, Cuba, the U.S.S. Maine, an American Navy battleship exploded. Witnesses say they saw Spaniards running away from the ship moments before the explosion. 250 American sailors were killed in this tragic incident which was caused by Spanish soldiers. This was clearly a case of sabotage and murder. The demand for a war against Spain has been growing rapidly, and today spread like wildfire after the news of this attack hit American's. The bombing of this vessel shows that it is clear the Spanish mean business and it is time to let them know that the United States does as well.
